I am a ranch wife and mom of three kids. My husband and I own a commercial cow-calf and yearling ranching operation in central Utah, running primarily on public lands. I’m a 2nd generation rancher and my husband is a 7th generation rancher. I attended college and law school in the city, but the weekends could never come fast enough. My heart was always rooted on the ranch and I knew that I would someday return to the rural lifestyle, albeit a different town and different ranch.
Now, I want to help rural entrepreneurs. Is your business legal and protected? Or are you still operating based on handshake deals?

When your passion turns into a business… You have all of these roles you never really signed up for and contingencies you never thought of.
Marketer, contracts manager, hiring director, social media manager, coffee-brewer, finance director, receptionist, public relations specialist, personnel manager….and the list goes on!
You can figure out a lot of these things on your own because you’re smart and savvy (you own a business after all), but do you need a lawyer? You can wing it and not have any paperwork all together (let’s be honest, we’ve all been there a few times!) or you can write the documents yourself and take the risk that you don’t have all the legalese together.
That’s why my DIY legal templates exist. I give rural business owners the legal forms they need without all the legal jargon they don’t understand. My templates can be edited and modified by you or you can use them as they are, but you don’t have any more excuses for simply shaking hands with your neighbor unless it’s just to say hello.
I’m a lawyer, yes. But I’m also a rural, small business owner.
